As an illustration of the role of the media in agitating public opinion, in a poll conducted in the wake of the September 11 attacks, only 3% of the American populace believed the involvement of the Iraqi government in the attacks. When the International community, however, deemed it was time to invade Iraq, it unleashed the media. And so came the shocking result as documented by the 'USAToday' on 9/6/2003 that the percentage of Americans convinced of the involvement of the Iraqi government soared up to an approximate 70%. From 3% to 70%...It's the media!
